Today everyone remembers what happened 10 years ago on this day and where they were when it all happened.
I remember that day extremely well. I was a senior in high school and I was in study hall. It was a requirement that it was silent and to this day I remember hearing an air plane fly over the school, which was not uncommon, but it was a very short time after that we found out about the World Trade Center and the Pentagon being hit. I am sure the plane I heard was not related, but it still sticks with me to this day.
The rest of the day went on in shock. I had a a senior government class later that day and it had a TV, I remember sitting and watching, unsure what it all meant and learning all the new details as they developed. Then at lunch I sat with my friends and I remember having discussions about the future. I think most of us were still in shock, still trying to figure out what was going on. I remember very well not being able to concentrate that day in any of my classes.
When I got home that day I was thankful to be safe with my family and to know any family and friends near any of the hit areas were safe.
Today we keep in our prayers and thoughts the troops who fight for the USA and our freedom as well as the families who lost someone close to them in the attacks.

So first on a good note, I GOT A JOB!! I am employed at Books A Million. We just opened a new store in the area at the mall.
Last week it was all about getting the store ready for opening day, I worked about 42 hours in 3 days! Thankfully it is not normally like that!
Well today was my first day while the store was opened. It started off great learning my way around, learning the register, and I even got to work in the cafe and learn how to make drinks. That was until 1:51 PM.
(I know it’s old news! But I have to share my account of today’s happenings.) :)
At 1:51 a 5.8 earthquake shook the area (and most of the east coast). I have to say it was very scary and something I could live without going through again.
I felt myself feel like I needed to crouch down on my knees not sure exactly what was going on.(SCARY!!!)
I have been in a minor earthquake before, but it was never anything major, they never cause any damage, you may feel the floor shake, but that was even rare. This one though, it definitely caused some damage in areas. Thankfully in our store there was not much damage. A few signs, and small light fixtures fell, and some small stuff fell off the shelves, but thankfully nothing major!!! An no one was injured.
Other stores in the area were not so lucky and had to close there doors for the day.
At home thankfully I have not found any major damage. Some small stuff was moved around, like the stuff on top of the refrigerator was almost falling off, and one of my plants was almost falling off the railing of our deck.
I did however have 2 extremely scared dogs. Both were sitting by the door when I got home and didn’t make a peep when I came in. (Normally they bark a lot and Edward sits in the window) Edward has not gone back to the window.
To say the least it was a VERY interesting day!!

I was getting my haircut yesterday and a lady walks in to inquire about getting her hair done. After talking with the person cutting mine she turns to me and asks (like she’s talking to a 5 year old), “When do you start school honey?”
At first I thought oh she thinks I am in college and proceed to say oh I am going to be 28 and not in school. She then proceeds to say (sounding shocked), “OH WOW! I thought for sure you couldn’t be over 13!”
My stylist was speechless and so was I ! (she dropped her comb!)
Ok, I know I look young for my age, I am very used situations like this, i have another funny story from college, which I may share later( all i will say now is it involved a childrens menu and good friends). I just don’t normally get accused of not being in High School yet!! Usually I get 19 or 20. You could ask my friends and family, i look younger than my age, but not 13! Sorry but I think 13 is a little much!

Well I am spending some time in Ohio to help out and last night and today we are getting snow. I don’t mean a couple inches, more like 10-12 inches. To top it off they already had approximately 6 inches from before.
The news said we are getting approximately 1-2 inches every hour.
I guess I get one last taste of winter weather!! :) Maybe I will try to make a snow man! :P
Here are some pictures I took this morning of the snow. (Keep in mind the deck, the road, and the drive way were all clear when I went to bed last night!)

I have been thinking of something lately.(since I got my hair cut last)
Many have probably heard someone say to them “You must be eating your Cheerios” (or some variation)
Well the last time I got my hair cut it seemed like the time between this one and the last time were shorter than normal.
Jokingly my hairdresser said “you must be eating your Cheerios”. What she didn’t realize is I eat them almost every morning. I know they are known for keeping you healthy and being nutricious.
It may be silly but, what I have been wondering is if there is any truth to that quote. Is it possible eating Cheerios regularly makes my hair grow faster?
Just an example I typically get my hair cut every 3-4 months. This time it was 2 months and my hairdresser was even surprised how long it had gotten.

Well its been almost a full month since my last post! Time has flown. We have been busy traveling around!
As soon as we got back from Georgia our friends got married (YAY!!) so it was to Ohio we went.
Then we have been back and forth to North Carolina (sometimes twice in one weekend) for our rental property. I have to say a HUGE thank you to our awesome friends down there who met up with us, even with there busy schedules, making the trip very much worth it!!
I also have to give kudos to the dogs. They have spent so much time in the car, and have been so well behaved!!
Here some pictures of Mitzi and Edward. Enjoy!

I go to spend the last week in Columbus, GA. My Husband had to be in the area for work. While we were there I spent everyday with the dogs walking on the Chattahotchee River Walk. The River Walk is a 15 mile scenic trail that runs right along the river. The Chattahotchee River is what separates Georgia and Alabama.
I would take the dogs and walk a couple of miles everyday. There wasn’t time or energy to walk the whole 15 miles (especially with the dogs!), but I was able to get to different parts throughout the week.

This was part of the trail where the walkway was like walking through a tunnel. Part of the trail went through some historic areas. Where this was located you could see the old train tracks (wooden bridge) that went right up tot he river.

This is a picture from Uptown Columbus. It is one of the trails ends. Once you reach this area the path is all brick and you can see the waterfall (overflow dam). The building you can see is another historic figure.

This picture is one of the trail right next to the water.
If you would like to see more from the Chattahotchee River Walk I have uploaded all the pictures I took to Flickr Flickr
Enjoy!
